I've rebooted my laptop a couple of times from factory setting, applied Norton and Ad-aware and it's still really slow. It takes a couple of minutes for me to log on and the screen to appear and then up to 4 minutes after clicking internet explorer for that to appear. A lot of the pages just melt off the screen incredibly slowly too.
Sometimes the computer makes a buzzing noise. It's only a year old and the advice from pc world support when I phone is often contradictory and useless.
It's 50gb hard drive, 256 ram but I don't know if this makes any difference as there have been hardly any programmes running apart from the usual necessities.
What can Ido? Should I hand it in to get fixed?
Thanks in advance. Computer, repair.
I just bought a new Dell 966 printer/fax/copier. My problem is it will only print out of Microsoft Word and nothing else. It will copy and fax. I've tried to print an email it does not respond. I have tried to print a page form the web and it does not respond. Any troubleshooting tips would be greatly appreciated. I am running Windows XP and have Internet explorer 6. I have not updated to the service pack 2 it makes my system drag!! Computer, repair.

This has never happened in all the years I've used this computer, but it recently started doing this. I click on Internet Explorer or Opera to go online and surf the web. All of a sudden the screen flashes black entirely for 1 sec. and then goes back to the internet webpage. This is getting annoying..but I think it only happens about once when I go online..afterwards, it doesn't happen again when I'm still on the computer..it'll probably just happen again the next time I use the computer. Any solutions? Thanks!
