i have a wireless router installed and i have a laptop with a wireless internet card but the internet doesnt work on my laptop but it does work on my psp and not my laptop what do i do Computer, repair.

This is a redo. I have a compaq fr150nx i rebooted my computer with a self made reboot disc that was installed in the computer. I called compaq and they told me you have to make your own disc we dont have them so they told me what to do, so i dont have a code on the disc. Well when i was rebooting the computer i waited for hours and all it was doing was scanning so i called Compaq and they said i need a code but they want give it to me does anyone know anything about the code. I'm thinking about going to aionline for their game art and design bs program. but on their site it says the core curriculum is for pc only. So my question to everyone is if i have a maxed out macbook pro with 200gig hd and 4gig ram would i be able to run these programs on xp with no problem? Or am I really just better off getting a dell XPS? Most of the programs look like they have MACpatable versions but these are the programs i must have. I also need my wacom bluetooth tablet to work with both but im not sure on the xp side of things.
